Rope Rescue Awareness/Operations
Rope Rescue Awareness/Operations (RRA/O) is a 40 hour CA State Fire Marshal certified course taught in a five-day format. RRA/O also serves as the new perquisite to RRT. This course provides information on low-angle and high-angle rescue, familiarizing participants with operation of simple, complex, and compound rope rescue systems in the low- and high-angle environment.
NCRT can travel to your area to deliver RRA/O as needed.
Student Requirements:
Students are required to bring the following equipment to class every day.

Fire department helmet or rescue helmet

Rope rescue or fire department gloves
-
Long pants or coveralls – NO SHORTS

Steel toed and shanked safety boots

Long sleeve shirts ONLY

NOTE: This class is a prerequisite prior to attending Rope Rescue Technician.
SFT does not have a student manual associated with this course. We encourage you to bring any commercially available rope rescue text for reference. NCRT’s go-to reference is the National Park Service Technical Rescue Manual.
